BEEKMAN, N.Y. -- The town of Beekman has become a Purple Heart community, the first town in Dutchess County to be a part of the Military Order of the Purple Heart Foundation.
Dutchess County Legislator-elect Marc Coviello of Beekman holds one of the signs placed at every entry road into Beekman designating the town as a Purple Heart Community.

Signs designating Beekman a Purple Heart Community have been placed at every entry point into the town.
